Louise Wiley grew up on Long Island, New York and began her career as an artist after her studies at Stony Brook College of Art & Science, Parsons School of Design in Manhattan, and then The Lyme Academy of Fine Art in Connecticut. Louise went on to attend painting workshops in France, Italy, New Mexico and Block Island, N.Y. Her work has been displayed in private collections, many of which have been from commissions. She works in water colors, oil and acrylic.
,Louise Wiley’s sculptures have won numerous awards as they capture the natural beauty of life from unique moments in time. Her work may be found in private collections in Connecticut, New York, Florida, France, Trinidad, and Honduras. She has also created public statues which may be found in Connecticut.
Her sculpting career began after moving to Connecticut and studying with Elizabeth Chandler, and other fine art teachers at the Lyme Academy of Fine Art. Louise attended terra-cotta workshops in Italy with Paul Lucchesi and later with Phillippe Faraut in New York. Louise studied stone carving with Fred Brownstein in Connecticut and later in Italy. Working in bronze and terra-cotta has become her true passion and her original works in all these collections are produced in numbered, limited editions.
